What is an HSA vs FSA?

Quick Answer

An HSA requires a high-deductible health plan, rolls over indefinitely, can be invested, and goes with you when you change jobs. An FSA works with any health plan but is largely use-it-or-lose-it, capped at $3,300 in 2025, and stays with the employer.
